Furrhter to our alert in February (Delays with Rail – Tauranga to Auckland) the delays in rail service have not improved. The Port of Tauranga Container Terminal provided this update earlier today:
We are still the preferred discharge port of NZ. Due to continued ship visits, shuttle units have increased significantly, over the last four days.
Priority cargo, delivery is currently sitting on 10 days from discharge.
General cargo, has slipped to +3 weeks before we consider the unit for load. With urgent focus on the longest dwell.
To handle increasing volumes, significant manpower and resources have being allocated to rail operations, increasing our ability to load full trains.

ACA will keep you updated on the situation. We do have options for urgent containers to be trucked. These need to be discussed and costed before the vessel arrives. Please contact us if this option needs to be looked at.
