Vessels are still continuing to be delayed on calls through Australian ports gernally caused by:
- Congestion building in Port Kelang and Singapore impacting on schedules from South East Asia
- Shanghai congestion impacting on northern China vessels,
- West Coast USA congestion; and
- The ongoing major delay in Auckland.
While there has been no further industrial action from our previous alert Patrick Terminal and MUA are still yet to reach and Employment agreement and so there is a possibility it could resume in the new year upsetting the trending toward improved berthing.
DP world is operating 2 to 3 days delay with a view to see further improvement through January. Patrick terminal is operating 10 to 11 days delay in berthing and processing with a view to that reducing below 5 days post – Christmas.
The following delays or changes to vessels have been reported.
COSCO FELIXSTOWE V.162N from China will change rotation calling Melbourne - Sydney - Brisbane due to port congestion.

Carriers will continue take corrective action to try to avoid further delays by changing port rotations and omitting ports on export voyages and future import voyages. All carriers and trade lanes are being impacted and consequently all vessels to and from Australia will continue to see small and large delays often at very short notice.
We understand that this is creating major disruptions however it is an industry wide scenario that we are unable to control. We will continue to update as quickly as possible via our reporting and advices from our sales and customer service teams and our delay notices.
